Role Overview
CarboCode SA (www.carbocode.com) is a biotechnology company based in Biocant Park, Cantanhede, specializing in the development of technology for biomolecules, including oligosaccharides, glycoconjugates, glycolipids, and glycoproteins. We are currently seeking for a Quality, Environment and Safety Engineer to join CarboCode’s Technology Transfer Center in Biocant park, This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable legislation regarding Health, Safety and Environment, promote process safety and the company’s Safety, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Quality policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Execution/ review environment, health and safety risk assessments and coordination of the implementation of actions to mitigate them - continuous improvement.
- Reporting to the authorities to comply with applicable legislation.
- Coordination of auto-protection measures.
- Coordination with occupational health provider.
- Waste, EPI and first aid management.
- Elaboration of QES management system documentation.
- Training and supervision of activities to ensure compliance with CarboCode’s policies and procedures.
- Participating in risk assessments, investigations, follow-up on CAPAs, supplier approval and evaluation, change control, document management and other related activities.
Role Requirements
- Degree in biotechnology, chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical-related, or other science/ industry-related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality, Environment and/or Safety department (preferably integrated).
- Preferably with qualification as “Técnico Superior de Segurança no Trabalho nível 6”.
- Preferably experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IPPC directive/ environmental licensing, Good Manufacturing Practice and/or HACCP.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS Office.
- English writing and verbal communication skills are essential.
